Every dog I have seen given the chance to taste beer has loved it. If you fill a bowl with beer you will have to try to not let them drink it, and probably fail. My dog would rather have a few sips of beer than a treat. This is exactly the reason why most animal rights protesters are thought to be stupid.

Re: Guinness Instead of Aspirin?

Feeding Guinness and lager to dogs?

Aren't there enough human volunteer beer drinkers the researchers could have used? This is exactly the stupid, sickening type of "research" that gets the animal rights protesters worked up, and in this instance I have every sympathy. What is the earthly point of doing it at all? Will non-Guinness drinkers begin to drink it? Will rapacious Guinness drinkers now limit themselves to just one pint at dinner? No! Have dogs been tormented and forced to drink alcohol for no reason whatsoever? Yes. Pathetic. The researchers should be forced to eat raw meat v. canned dog food for a year. See how they like it.

Re: Guinness Instead of Aspirin?

I remember my mum telling me back in Scotland how new mums in the Greenock maternity ward used to get 2 bottles of sweetheart stout. So i guess the health benefits of stout might just have some merit to it after all.
